when a new life turns towards you

I haven't updated in forever. What's going on? What is this thing for again? I don't know what I'm doing.

But since it's quarter of 12 on a Sunday night I really feel like staying up late and being super tired in the morning. (even though, you know, Tuesdays are always worse)

OK I'm going to go in a somewhat chronological order.

New York Trip

On the train, sneaking glances at that red-haired guy.

zomg beer drummer!!!!

metropolitan museum of art

I think he saw me taking a secret picture at DDR.

Driving Back from Baltimore

there were a lot of tolls.

Orchestra Cruise

oh, the ship I went on

at the kayak place we went to in Key West, the people were pretty desperate

heyyyy Spanish, haven't seen that in a while

speedbumps are cooler in Mexico

Mayan ruins

walking in a tunnel?

dancing at dinner

our waiter guy

pool on the ship

party on the front of the ship

where are they going?

elevator/lobby area

These next few weeks are going to fly by.
Just so I don't have to repeat the story several times:

I didn't get into Yale
I got wait-listed from Columbia
...but I got accepted to Brown

¿? so many decisions

But I'm a lot happier than I thought I would be. I think I set myself up for the last 3 to be rejections but hey this isn't that bad.

As it stands, it's probably between Brown, BU (because they gave me lots of money), and Johns Hopkins.

Then there's McGill, but it's far, but Montreal is so nice!

Thoughts, opinions? I think I need a pro/con list like Rory.

Other than this minor disappointment, however, everything else is going swimmingly. The show opens tonight, we leave for the cruise in 2 weeks, the Grease poster looks awesome, it's Friday and I left after 4th period, and then there's London/Ireland in the summer. Really, I'm pretty happy.

Edit: I almost forgot; as of Tuesday, I am now 17½.

It strongly smells of clean laundry/detergent in my room. Strongly.

So I have become a bit mix-obsessive lately, what with the long car rides down to the shore to see my grandparents. Boring like whoa. (And no, Claudia, we didn't talk about groceries this time. More like scheming telemarketers.)

I made a series of 2 mixes within a couple days of each other and yet I cannot think of a name for the 2nd one.

#1 September Mix
Summer 78 (instrumental) - Yann Tiersen
Look Up - Stars
Somebody Else - Kubb
Orange Sky - Alexi Murdoch
Clear Spot - The Pernice Brothers
To Be Alone with You - Sufjan Stevens
My Head Is In The Sun - The Rentals
How Far North? - Fitzgerald
Haiti - The Arcade Fire
Cody - Mogwai
I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You - Colin Hay
Autumn Sweater - Yo La Tengo
Far, Far Away - Wilco
Your Hand in Mine - Explosions in the Sky
I Better Be Quiet Now - Elliott Smith
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths
Warning Sign - Coldplay

#2 [Untitled] Mix
Number 1 - Goldfrapp
California Dreaming - Mama Cass
Summer in the City - Lovin Spoonful
I Can Give You The Starlight - Jeremy Northam (Gosford Park OST)
I Just Wanna Love You (Give It To Me) - Jay-Z
Fool - Blur
All Good Gifts - Godspell
Gold Soundz - Pavement
First Rendez-Vous - Yann Tiersen
Do You Like It - Our Lady Peace
Last Post On The Bugle - The Libertines
What Is The Light? - The Flaming Lips
It's no good - Depeche Mode

haha they're SO random and motley! especially untitled 2.

In an unrelated note, my community service for C.I. is awesome and I'm so glad I'm not writing a term paper.

I also need to make an impromptu Pixies playlist I can listen to it over-and-over again to get excited!!!
busy weekend. hebron harvest fair was great as always. I ♥ Hebron!

I got a box o'books at the Library book sale for only 12$ and I'm SO EXCITED. Makes up for getting up at 6:30 on a Saturday.

Then I visited Yale and spent almost the whole day there. Pretty cool place, I must say. Kinda makes me want to go there. Kinda shouldn't get too excited because I probably won't get in.

And today I picked 6 pints of raspberries and lost my sunglasses in the process. Fair trade, I'd say. Did I mention I love raspberries?

omgomg this song is so good you must all download it immedia-tely! I don't care that it took 45 minutes to upload. Like, all my favorite fall TV shows start soon!! Except 24 which doesn't start until JANUARY!!!! are they TRYING to annoy me?!?

Broken Wings is an excellent movie. Highly recommended.

So tomorrow I am off (again) this time for New Hampshire (no, not Vermont)

And that will be nice, and relaxing and I can catch up on my reading and crosswords!! because that is my latest obsession.

OMG I finished Harry Potter 6 and it is shocking!! Shocking!!! I know it took me a while but I had to re-read some of the others but now wow... Well I won't spoil it here!!

Also, I saw the most interesting movie today which I coincidentally found in the library called "Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie" (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie). It was so odd, and nothing like I've ever seen before. But so amusing! I recommend highly.

I wish I could find a job. Looks like I may have to end up working at Highland. Ugh. I hate grocery stores. Well, actually I love them, but hate them to work in. I especially like the produce area. Mmm, raspberries. You know they're out of season now? But don't worry, they'll be back the end of August!!! The only reason I hate the fall & winter (my favorite seasons) is because I cannot get raspberries. sad.

ahh...why did I leave packing to the last minute? I cannot find any socks, oh dear. Plus there are no Starbucks where we are going, gah!! Coffee!! (That was unrelated, but it is also troubling me.)

Now I should get some sleep, seeing as they are making me wake up in 7 hrs. Gr. This aggression will not stand!

Oh hi! I feel really narcoleptic right now but I can't take a nap because I have too much work! But I am doing this...oh well.

April vacation was lovely/boring. I went college-searching [boring part]. I saw Vassar, McGill, and Dartmouth. McGill is probably my favorite, plus I love Montreal. How did that happen?

Let's start at the beginning. Last Summer in Vermont. Right click on the thumbnail, in Internet Explorer click on "Copy Shortcut" in Firefox/Mozilla click on "Copy link location" now paste that link into the parentheses in this code (Make sure you take the spaces out from before and greater/less than signs):
< img src="TEXTHERE" >

For instance, a link to the google image search picture looks like this:
< img src="URLGOESHERE" >

Do this for each track on your album, it seems kind of complicated but it's really not.

Put all this in LJ cut at the top of your page:
< lj-cut text="Album collage" >

Paste the instructions at the end of your collage if you want your friends to do it.
(from ok_computer)
Oh hi.

So I really didn't think that I was going to get back into this again. But there are always things to talk about.

First and foremost, we need to stop talking about DV so openly because too many people know and this is getting scary. But fun too. But scary!

It's March, and you know what that means. March is so slow, oh and I guess, that I just don't know. I have a feeling it's going to be fun though.

So I had a bonfire and I would have pictures if I had a digital camera. Um, yea. Tobey Coffee Wire? No wait, my favorite was CASPER!! But that was the other time. I have come to the conclusion that I do not mind large numbers of people coming to my house as long as their cars don't break down or they don't mind driving the "treacherous route" that it is to get here. Also, as long as they don't look too hard at my wall of pictures because they might come to some m-barrassing conclusions which are not true! You know what I mean.

Well, Zorro's hair is stupid and Batman is growing on me (oh no).

I think I'm going to be disappointed by the remake of Willy Wonka because I mean who can replace Gene Wilder? We'll see.

Limewire is slow and I hate my ISP (who shall not be named) but then again I always have. I just want those songs from Gosford Park that Jeremy Northam sings! And Earth Wind and Fire.

I just realized that I have 50 gmail invites. And while this may be a fad that has well gone out, there must be someone who still yearns for a gmail-email. (z-mail?) Anyways, they're up for grabs.

I would really like to learn French so I'm prepared for Montréal in case that is indeed where I end up going for college. Why-ever did I take Spanish? I would like to time-travel back to 6th grade and smack my 11-year old self for choosing Spanish.

24 is amazing. I wish I had someone else I knew who watched it regularly so we could gush over it and say silly things like "Michelle is back!!" and "Oh, I think Audrey's husband is a traitor." I believe it is the one good thing to come out of FOX.

I think it's time for spring. I am most definitely a winter-person, but enough is enough. The snow is lovely especially when it gets us out of school but I'm ready for something new. All good things come to people who wait.

It's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment...
